Try to create aliases for your emails, for example if your email id is johnsmith, try johnsmith2 or johnsmithnews. It may be difficult to get your company IT to give you multiple email accounts, instead try getting another alias to point to your same email account, that way it'll be easier to create a filter rule to move emails to holding / spam filter.

Speed up your iPhone and conserve battery life if you don't use Google Maps. To disable location services go to Settings > General > Location Services.
If you don't use WiFi on your iPhone often turn it off. WiFi is better than 3G but if you're not using the connection turn it off. To change this go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
Same thing goes with Bluetooth as it does with WiFi, if you don't use bluetooth devices like headsets then turn it off! Change this under Settings > General > Bluetooth to Off.
This is another battery saving tip, if don't need to get your emails immediately using Yahoo, Mobile Me or have setup your corporate Microsoft Exchange, then disable push by going to Settings > Fetch New Data > Set Push to Off. Emails will then be based on the Fetch time below on the same screen.

If you have less than 1GB ram then this will probably be the best thing that you can do to speed up your computer.
