Speed up your XP Shutdown
Do you hate it when windows takes forever to close your applications? if you properly save your work then it's safe to set this value lower.
- Run regedit by Pressing Windows Key + R then typing regedit and press the enter key
- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Control > WaitToKillServiceTimeOut
- Change the value from 20000 (20 seconds) to something like 10000 (10 seconds) or 5000 (5 seconds)
- Note you will have to reboot the computer for this to take effect.

- Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Control > SessionManager > MemoryManagement > PrefetchParameters
- Change the value from 3 to 5, this delays the computer from loading files that it doesn't immediate require. This can speed up your computer by up to 5 seconds!
- Note you will have to reboot the computer for this to take effect.
